Modules

Collections

A collection is a list of content that can be sorted. Collections can be stored in with the content, but all are editable from the Modules tab.

Creating a New Collection

  • Click Modules then Collections
  • Click the Add icon (24)
  • Give the Collection a Title
  • Click the Save icon (save)

Editing a Collection

  • Click the Title of the Collection
  • Use the Add(24) or Remove (25) icons
  • Click the Sort Icon (26) to re-order the content (some collection’s content is randomly pulled from, in these cases order does not matter).

    Menus

The menu is a very crucial piece of a website. Without a menu, users would not be able to find any content in your website. Not many content management systems include a menu in them and the ones that do may model the menu from your content folder structure. CMS400’s menu module is independent of the content. Just like a collection, a menu can also be stored with the content, but all are editable from the Modules tab. In most cases Web Services will initially create the Menu and add it to the template file.

A Menu can contain these types of Items:

  • Content Item
  • Library Asset
  • External Hyperlink
  • Sub Menu – can have other Items beneath it.
    Editing a Menu

  • Click Modules then Menus
  • Click the Title of the Menu
  • Actions to a Menu Item appear as a context menu when the mouse is placed over them
  • Taxonomy

Taxonomy is a hierarchical data structure for associating content. Taxonomy is not used that often, but it works very well for photo gallery structure.
